* Recommendations if you are coming in your own car or rented vehicle:

If you are located at the Airport Juan Santamaría in Alajuela like point of reference, you can take the Inter-American Highway CA-1 till San Ramón, and just across this town take the road to Fortuna (CR-702), and then on to Tanque and the road 4 to San Rafael de Guatuso.

Other route from the Airport is taking the Inter-American Highway until the Highway CA-35 passing for Naranjo, Zarcero, Quesada till Highway 4 to San Rafael de Guatuso.

In tha Highway 4 a sign will tell you when to turn left to Venado (about 180 Kms total distance).
