Hey! In Cavernas de Venado adventures awaits!
Thirty millions years ago begins the formation of these caves. For extended period of time remained below sea level but tectonic movements brought them to the surface.
At that time, the Malekus or Guatusos aborigenes became the first people to stumble upon their discovery.
Today, we’re thrilled and delirious to disclose the result of water currents penetrating and passing through the surrounding limestone rocks. If you have access to the caves you’ll notice many more rock formations, such as the “Papaya” which is a vertical formation formed by the union of two different rock types. The name derived from its shape, it looks just like a papaya fruit.
On top of that, there are coral formation which if touched will retard the growth process.
In short, covering approximately 2 ½ kms. in length, the caves contain 10 separate chambers (salas in spanish), however you can explore 800 meters in the area limited for tourism use.

Ok, so now you know almost all there is to know about the caves if you plan is discovering the more intimate places within the caves, we will make our recommendations.
You will walk into the river and water falls from the top of the caves, for safety regulations we provide boots (remember bring additional socks).
All our equipment is carefully cleaned and disinfected after each tour.
We think the pregnant woman can log into the caves until 4th or 5th month of your pregnancy BUT into her must careful not to suffer fall.
We recommend to use comfortable clothes: like shorts or trousers that not bother by the excess of water such as thick jeans.
